Quick start: 7 steps
- 1Find a suitable outletChoose a wall outlet with about 1 m (3 ft) of clear space around it, away from curtains, bedding and water.
- 2Plug RapidHeat inPlug it directly into the wall. Don't use an extension lead or power strip.
- 3Switch onPress the power button on the unit or the remote.
- 4Choose a modePick Low (400W) for gentle warmth or High (800W) for fast heat.
- 5Set the temperatureUse + and – to set your target temperature. RapidHeat cycles to maintain it.
- 6Set the timer (optional)Use the timer button so RapidHeat switches off on its own.
- 7Clean the filterUnplug it and let it cool, then gently dust the air filter regularly to keep the airflow strong.
Where to put RapidHeat
Because RapidHeat plugs straight into the wall, the outlet you choose decides where the heat goes. Pick one in the room you spend the most time in, ideally on the coldest wall or near where you sit or sleep, so warm air reaches you quickly.
- Keep about 1 m (3 ft) clear in front: no curtains, bedding, clothes or furniture.
- Never cover it or hang anything over it to dry.
- Keep it away from water, sinks, baths and showers.
- Avoid outlets behind sofas or beds where air can't flow.
- Choose an outlet out of reach of small children where you can.
Using the controls
Power: switches the heater on and off, on the unit or the remote.
Mode: chooses Low (400W) or High (800W). High warms a cold room fastest; Low keeps a warm room comfortable using half the power.
+ and –: set your target temperature, shown on the digital display. Once the room reaches it, the heater cycles to hold it.
Timer: switches RapidHeat off automatically after the time you choose, which is ideal at bedtime or before you leave a room.
Best settings for each room
| Room | Start on | Then |
|---|---|---|
| Bedroom | High for 15–20 minutes before bed | Low or a cooler setting, with the timer on |
| Home office | High when you sit down | Let the thermostat hold the temperature |
| Living room | High to take the chill off | Low; use two units in a larger room |
| Nursery | Warm the room before baby goes in | Low, placed well out of reach |
| Bathroom (dry area) | High for a few minutes before a bath | Switch off; keep well away from water |
Tips to stay warm for less
- Close the door so the heat stays in the room you're using.
- Turn your main heating down a little in rooms you aren't using.
- Draw curtains at dusk and block draughts under doors.
- Use the timer instead of leaving it running all night.

Cleaning and care
Unplug RapidHeat and let it cool fully. Wipe the outside with a soft, dry cloth, and gently remove dust from the air filter, following the user manual. A clean filter keeps the airflow strong and the heater working efficiently. Never use water or sprays on it. Between seasons, store it somewhere dry with its remote.
Troubleshooting
- It won't switch on: check the plug is fully in a working wall outlet and press power on the unit itself.
- The remote doesn't work: check the battery and point it straight at the display.
- It stops heating: the room may have reached your set temperature. Raise it slightly.
- It switched itself off: the timer may be set, or overheat protection may have stepped in. Unplug, let it cool, check nothing blocks the airflow and try again.
- Weak airflow: clean the filter.

Safety reminders
Use RapidHeat only in a wall outlet, never with extension leads. Don't leave it running when you're out of the house, keep it away from water, and never cover it. Read our space heater safety guide and can you leave a heater on all night?
Common questions
Which mode should I use?
Start on High (800W) to warm the room, then switch to Low (400W) or let the thermostat hold the temperature.
How do I use the timer?
Set the timer so the heater switches off automatically, for example an hour after bedtime.
Where should I plug it in?
Into a wall outlet with about 1 m (3 ft) of clear space in front, away from curtains, bedding and water.
How much does RapidHeat cost to run?
At full power it uses 0.4 kWh per hour on Low (400W) and 0.8 kWh per hour on High (800W). Multiply by your price per kWh; at 0.25 that's 0.10 or 0.20 per hour. The thermostat often brings real use lower.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes. Orders from the official store come with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
What temperature should I set?
Many people find around 19–21 °C (66–70 °F) comfortable for living spaces and a little cooler for sleeping. Every degree lower saves energy.
Why does it keep switching off and on?
That's the thermostat working. Once the room reaches your set temperature, RapidHeat cycles the heat to hold it, which saves electricity.
